My name is Norma Braine. I am a retired primary school teacher living in Wiltshire with my husband Tevor and brindle and white whippet, Belle.
I have always enjoyed painting and drawing but only took art as a subject at school until I was 14, when I specialised in the sciences. Later at college I studied Biology and Education but chose art and craft as a second subject, dipping into pottery, printmaking, textiles and painting with acrylics.
All through my teaching career I promised myself that once I retired I would learn to paint with watercolours. It's something I have enjoyed now for 12 years, but I'm still learning!
Animals are my passion when it comes to subject matter, especially dogs and pointy noses in particular! As you can see from the examples of my work I have painted several different breeds of dog. I also paint cats, horses, birds, wildlife, vehicles and landscapes.
